Author Guidelines

1. General Information

DIMASINTEGRA publishes peer-reviewed scholarly articles reporting Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat conducted by higher education institutions. Manuscripts must demonstrate academic rigor, ethical community engagement, and measurable or theoretically grounded impact. Submissions are accepted in English and Bahasa Indonesia and must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS). Authors are required to follow these guidelines strictly to ensure a smooth review and publication process.


2. Manuscript Types

DIMASINTEGRA accepts the following article types:

  • Community Engagement Articles (empirical reports of Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat programs)

  • Applied Community-Based Research Articles

  • Conceptual or Model-Based Articles (limited and strongly grounded in practice)

  • Reflective Practice Articles (critical and evidence-informed reflections on community engagement)


3. Manuscript Structure and Organization

Manuscripts should be prepared using the official DIMASINTEGRA manuscript template, which can be downloaded directly from the journal website. Submissions that do not conform to the template may be returned to authors prior to review.

A standard manuscript should be organized as follows:

a. Title

The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the core focus of the community engagement activity. It should avoid abbreviations and be written in sentence case.

b. Author Information

Author names should be written without academic titles, followed by institutional affiliation(s), city, country, and corresponding author email address.

c. Abstract

The abstract (150–250 words) must clearly state:

  • The background and rationale of the community engagement

  • The objectives of the program

  • Methods or approaches employed

  • Key outcomes or impacts

  • Conclusions and implications

Abstracts must be written in English and Bahasa Indonesia.

d. Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords that reflect the core themes of the manuscript and are suitable for indexing purposes.

e. Introduction

The introduction should articulate:

  • The social, educational, or community-based problem addressed

  • The theoretical or contextual background

  • The significance of the engagement activity

  • Clear objectives of the program

f. Methods / Implementation Procedures

This section should describe in detail:

  • Target community and context

  • Program design and stages of implementation

  • Participants and stakeholders involved

  • Materials, instruments, or technologies used

  • Ethical considerations and approvals (if applicable)

g. Results and Discussion

Authors should present:

  • Outcomes of the community engagement activities

  • Evidence of impact (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed)

  • Challenges encountered and how they were addressed

  • Critical discussion linking outcomes to theory, policy, or prior studies

Results and discussion may be combined or separated, depending on the nature of the manuscript.

h. Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize key findings, reflect on sustainability and scalability, and provide recommendations for future community engagement or policy development.

i. Acknowledgments (Optional)

Authors may acknowledge funding sources, institutional support, or community partners.

j. References

All references must be relevant, up to date, and formatted according to the APA Style (7th Edition). Authors are encouraged to use reference management software.


4. Formatting Requirements

  • Manuscript length: 5,000–9,000 words, including references

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12-point

  • Spacing: 1.5 lines

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Tables and figures must be numbered, titled, and cited in the text

All formatting details are embedded in the official journal template, which authors are required to use.


5. Ethical Considerations

Authors must comply with the journal’s Publication Ethics and ensure ethical community engagement practices, including informed consent, respect for local values, and transparency in reporting outcomes.


6. Peer Review and Revision

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer and editor feedback. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within the timeframe specified by the editorial office.


7. Plagiarism Policy

All submissions are screened for plagiarism using similarity detection software. Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity levels will be rejected or returned for revision.


8. Template Download

Authors must use the official DIMASINTEGRA manuscript template. The template can be downloaded from the journal website under the Author Guidelines or Submission section. Submissions that do not use the template will not be processed.
